Which Martial Art should I learn?

You should do Jeet Kune Do, Wing Chun, Krav Maga, Muay Thai, or BJJ. They are all reality-based fighting systems. If you're 5'4" and weigh 50 kilos at the age of 15, then you are not going to be a very big adult. You need a fighting style that compensates for your size. Unfortunately a lot of larger men will mess with you just because they are bigger than you are. You need a fighting style that's going to give you a chance against much larger fighters. A friend of mine was very skinny and he got picked on until he mastered Wing Chun. Then he began badly injuring many of the larger men who messed with him.

If you want to be a good fighter go for kiyokushin karate. I've practising & we look forward enduring moves more than using it. I can endure some kicks and large amount of punchs.

Tae-Kwon-Do and judo. Go three times a week and practice at home, run 40 minutes a day 7 days a week.

Please, look into Aikido, which can be practiced for a life time.

Why the **** do people always, and I mean ALWAYS put their height and weight. Age, height, weight are irrelevant in the martial arts world. I would go with Karate or Judo. Not for the fact that TKD is bad, it's that if you want the sport side, go for it. If want to actually learn martial arts, TKD would be your best bet to find a frikin McDojang. However, it's the INSTRUCTOR, not the art. Gosh, before asking about what you should do, do research, because I bet you this has been asked countless times.

Summary: Art is irrelevant, find the right instructor.

Kajukenbo or Kickboxing.

I'm a 15 year old guy, I'm 5ft 4, i weigh 50 kg, and I'm wondering which martial art to do. I'm pretty athletic, I don't work out but I do have muscle due to the amount of sport I do and the amount of protein is in my diet!!! and I'm very fast in terms of running (if that even makes a difference!?) Its a pretty broard question, I know but I'd like to hear an opinion from some people with experience. Proximity to a dojo isn't an issue, I'd just like to learn self defense.

The martial arts I've narrowed it down to is:Karate, Tae-Kwon-Do? Judo is another and I'm seriously considering aikido (however the whole spiritual aspect doesn't really interest me). I would like to do some sparring, and I'm pretty good with dealing with pain. I'm open to another other martial art suggestions. I don't really know whether or not I would compete, it really depends on how much I enjoy it (and how good at it I am!)

I would like a karate that does do striking. I realise judo and aikido don't focus on this, but those are martial arts that sound like fun.

Thank you for your answers and please could they be detailed and unbiased enough to allow me to make the correct decision.
