Nice T-shirt (as in don't advertise your hometowns construction business), jeans, tennis shoes, clean and no holes in any of them. Go easy on the jewelry and make up. A well put together casual appearance would be appropriate and respectful I think.

My boyfriend has invited me to attend his karate tournament. He's a 3rd degree black belt and has won many medals over the years. I've never been to a tournament before, so I'm unsure about the dress code. I suppose it would be casual but I don't know how casual we're talking about.

I always dress nice and have a well put together appearance, but I want to ensure that I don't unintentionally stand out . He'll also be introducing me to a lot of his friends and Sensei, which adds to my concern. Any advice on clothes, shoes, makeup, accessories etc. would be greatly appreciated. Thanks everyone!
