what type of martial arts do belt colours to move up in grades?

what type takes longest for black belt as an estimate?

what one is more beneficial in your opinion?

The majority of Okinawan and Japanese styles have adopted a belt system of some sort; though there are many different belt orders.

There isn't a specific 'type' of martial art which takes a long time to gain a black belt, it's all down to the quality of coaching, array of techniques on the syllabus, frequency of Gradings etc.

It really depends on your idea of 'beneficial'; I've studied Kenpo Karate, Kung-fu, Japanese Jujitsu, Kobujutsu and a bit of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and out of all of them I've found Japanese Jujitsu the most beneficial. However, it all depends on your idea of 'beneficial' and your purposes for learning etc.

Pretty much only Japanese/Okinawan martial arts. Some Chinese martial arts school in the west followed the marketing scheme and went to colored sashes but no serious traditional martial arts school in China has belts or sashes for ranks or even ranks for that matter.

Serious traditional schools take longest for advancements. You can have a McDojo Karate School and be guaranteed a belt in 2 years and you can have a traditional Karate school that has much to teach and it can take you 10 years to get to black belt.

The most beneficial is a good teacher. Not the style guarantees what you will learn and / or how well you will learn but a good teacher is pretty much a guarantee that you can be the best you can be if you do your part as a student too of course.

You may start with a white belt and through the years of practice it will slowly become more and more dirty, until finally it's black, then you will be a black belt.
