In Taekwondo, tornado kick is a like a 360 degree spinning and jumping roundhouse kick.
In Tang Soo Do, a tornado is sometimes called a hurricane kick instead and uses a crescent kick instead of roundhouse kick. They usually practice the roundhouse way like taekwondo too.
So the one of the ways has the foot horizontal, kicking with the in-step or the ball of the foot, and the other way is with the foot vertical, kicking with the side of the foot.
Again, it is a combination of kicks in TKD. The second kick does not have to be aerial. The kicks flow into each other and we often practice doing them in continuing series across the gym floor.
