What is the best kick?

what is the best or if you have several favourite kicks, which do you think are most powerful. Just wondering what kick i should practice more or learn. Answers are appreciated!

Yes this inside crescent is terrific for defending against a knife with a shoe on. But that is only one application.

My favorite kicks are the push kick (teep) the breaking /muay thai roundhouse (actually, all variations of the roundhouse), the side kick, and the back kick.

These are why they are my favoirite:

Teep: helps you keep distance, if a surprise attack comes you can knock them back and plan. It's rarely a finishing blow, but it is also rarely blocked because of that. Great and powerful kick. Also great for stopping a back kick (kick at the hip).

Muaythai roundhouse: A destructive kick that can break the ribs, severely injure the thigh, and knock someone out if it hits the jaw/neck.

Side kick: Two variations, pushing and blade. The blade can break their knee, can double them over if it hits the solar plexus, and is a great shot to the trachea, and the pushing/breaking variation will knock someone backwards, stop a kick (if it hits the hip) and can knock them out.

Karate roundhouse: Great against the knee or for a knockout against the jaw/temple.

Other great kicks which all have their uses (some more than others) are the inside and outside crescent, the axe (love that kick), the spinning crescent and heel hooks, inside and outside heel hooks, and the kung fu and karate butterflies.

I love punches, knees, elbows, but besides throws, I think kicks will always be my favorite.

It is difficult to pick one. I believe that variety makes you more unpredictable, and thereby a better fighter. I try to be deceptive, to surprise an attacker. Instead of a front snap, I prefer a twisting kick, which is just a little bit different. I use a roundhouse, frequently, because it focuses on a target about 30 degrees short of dead center. This offset targeting can catch an attacker during a transition, when he thinks he is out of range. The inner crescent is a terrific defensive tool for me. Especially against a knife, I'd rather block with my shoe, than a bare hand. It also has the advantage of seeming to come from nowhere, especially to someone who is not used to advanced kicks.

The most powerful is probably different variations of the side kick. But my favourite kick would have to be a combination of a roundhouse kick to the body so their guard goes down to block it, straight into a spinning hook to the head to catch them off guard - Easy way of getting points as well if you are doing Taekwondo

William "Bill" Louis Wallace (born December 1, 1945) is an American martial artist who was a Professional Karate Association world full-contact karate champion. He was the Professional Karate Association (PKA) Middleweight Champion kickboxer for almost six years. He retired with I think 23 wins (12 KO) 0 losses and 0 draws.

His kicks, roundhouse, hook kick, front snap kick.

A good variety is the key, not too many but enough to keep your opponent guessing.

Round house, one of the most brutal kicks ever specially Chuck Norris round house kick because scientist have found its energy might be infinite.

Round house, front and spinning side are most effective for me. Spinning side is the most powerful.

the side kick and ESPECIALLY the roundhouse kick!! That kick is powerful!!

front
