Rather depends what you want out of your art. Judo is a competitive form. It is primarily a sport, with some self-defense aspects.
It's great for physical conditioning, and of course if you want to compete you can go all the way to the Olympics if you have the talent.
Jujitsu (at least, traditional Japanese jujitsu, is the parent art from which judo is derived. It is entirely oriented to self-defense techniques. It was used extensively by police worldwide for control and subduing of suspects.
The modern "Brazilian Ju Jitsu" or BJJ is geared again to competition primarily, but also with a strong self-defense component.
It's the primary grappling technique seen in MMA-type competitions.
There are also BJJ competitons outright, popular in South America, which do not feature striking at all.
