I don't think kung fu is applicable for anything in the real world. I mean you can take kung fu for fun and you can do it for your own reasons. Not everything has to be about fighting and preparing for something that might never happen. But they don't spar, they have too many forms and they don't train with spontanious and resisting opponents. Which is what a real life situation basically is.
And same thing can be said about TKD. I don't know where you got your belt but I think TKD should be avoided in the west. It is completely run down with McDojos. There are damn 10 year old's with black belts. Having a black belt means nothing in today's world. Let me ask you. How long did it take for you to get your black belt?

Hung Fut is a combination of Hung Ga and Buddha Palm.
There are a few practitioners here in the US.
You can have 2 or 3 schools that teach the same art and they can all have their distinctive curriculum.
Contact Tai Yim or the teacher in the west coast who's name I can't recall, if you want to find out anything about the art. .
there are hundreds of styles of kung fu, i have only seen a hand full of them compared to the number there are.
a style any style is only as good as your instructor and training. all styles work, but not all people train right or have an instructor that even knows how to teach the style.
I never heard of this style before. I was thinking about taking it after I get a 2nd degree black belt in Tae Kwon do. Is it a good complement for tae kwon do? Is kung fu hard to learn and is it applicable? I heard that kung fu is hard to learn and it is not that applicable for a street situation. Does it offer the 5 animal styles and drunken fist?
