I find this very interesting. What do you think?

I watched it and he makes some great points but disagree with some minor points. For instance, he does not mention sports and tournaments for their destruction of Classical Fighting arts or how there are some arts that work only on ikken hissatsu which work great but will land you in court. If you watch it with the Sound off you will miss 99% of what the video is about. At the end it is a good but still limited

Annoying sound fx and presentation, but sufficiently true information displayed.

Trying to learn martial arts technique off video is why people can't learn martial arts off video. The problem is in their approach and what information they try to absorb. Lecture type information is best passed in lectures, and that's what a video is mostly for, lecture + visual guide. Whether it's boring or not, depends on the presentation and audience.

Much of the physics involved in linear systems and Taiji Chuan's spiral power generation, makes no sense if a person has no foundation in Western or Eastern metaphysics. It's like Calculus II for someone that can't add 1+1, in decimal or binary. It's boring to them.

Belt colors became mandatory because the Japanese began teaching classes of 300 plus students under one master, like Funakoshi from Okinawa. You can't teach 300 people without some way to see what rank they belong to, so thus colored belts. In a class of 10, that you teach for 30 years, you already know what they are at, just by sparring with them. It's easy to remember. 300 people memorizing all their stuff? Not possible for humans. 100 names and faces is what humans are limited to, usually.

People make up different arrangements to old music pieces all the time. Just because Mozard was a prodigy, that doesn't mean all the musical pieces were done before his birth. Take Devil on G string, there's different arrangements and tempos. Whether the new arrangement is good or not, depends on skill and taste. So all these martial arts, somebody did the work of creating them. And if you want to walk the road of the masters, then you can't just copy what they got, you need to add or create your own stuff too. And if everything was already made before you were born, then what are you doing practicing martial arts? It's not an art any more, if you can't create anything new.

So beginners when they do their own thing, often fail to make anything better. But masters and those on the road of mastery, it's a different matter. Unfortunately, only about 3% of the total practitioners create anything new under the sun. The rest just like to copy what everyone else is doing, to increase their own personal abilities.

The rest of the video, I can guess what kind of points it is making already.

Too much Etch E Stetch male bovine excrement to watch for 18 minutes.

If a video is about martial arts, you should be able to watch the same with the sound off, see the techniques being discussed and arrive at your own conclusion regarding the same.

Wakarimasu, tomodachi?

It's 18 minutes long! I'm not going to sit through that just for you.

might be a hoax
