I do ITF taekwon-do.

or Sparring one need to practice

- continuous movement

- Speed ( not hand speed but engage and disengage opponents)

- Timing ( changing the pace of one attack at random to affect your opponents ability to respond and timing interception of their attacks)

- Angles ( try changing your angel of attack... high to low.... right to left...45 to 90 all attacks do not have to be head on)

- Strength ( work on drive the heels into the ground when punching and kicking this will increasing the strength of your attacks. You heel should drive into the ground when the strike make it contact and explode like a ball off wall)

- flexibility self explain be limber this increases speed

- relaxation ( this should be booth mind and body....calmness of the mind is very important

- intent ( never half *** a attack if mean to attack do so...if you mean to faint do so but let the intention of your actions be clear in your mind...while be deceptive to your opponent

- hit them before they hit you

this is a book all its own

well for starters

-you need to have basic techniques down, it does not have to be fancy it just has to work for you.

dont worry what works for others.

-balance is also important that goes along with your technqiues

-then you need footwork and timing

I do ITF taekwon-do.
