They are generally called telescoping nightsticks. It honestly depends on where you are whether you can get one or not. I grew up in Colorado, and I believe that they were legal, but you had to be 18 or over to own one. I think that's the general rule with them, but it varies from state to state and even from city to city. Here in China anybody can buy one from any of the walking street markets...Back in the states you can usually find them at places like certian cutlery stores such as Naked Edge Cutlery, and you can also find them at places like surpless police and military stores, and if I remember correctly even a few sporting goods stores. But it's probably just as easy if not easier to just buy them online at any number of shops.

In the movie "Taken 2", The captors used these 'sticks' (so-to-speak) to take down Liam Neeson.

I would like to know:

1. What is the specific name of the weapon?

2. Can a civilian obtain one or would I need my weapons/gunners permit?

3. If I can get one, where would I obtain one?
