You can't predict or know about someone just by watching his/her movies. Bruce Lee did some great movies, but you may not find it extraordinary when compared to present day movies with special effects. These days they have special effects and other technical stuff that were not present in Bruce's time.
Bruce Lee was far ahead of his time. His thoughts and training was much more advanced than what was present in his time. His feats were extraordinary that very few can replicate. Just check this link http://www.toptenz.net/top-10-reasons-br... and you will get a fair idea why Bruce Lee is worshiped.
As Frank R indicates. Lee did movies to make money. They do not reflect his contributions to the martial arts.
Lee understood that most of the Chinese arts, what we call "kung fu", had become so mired in tradition that they were approaching uselessness. He determined to strip away what he called the "classical mess" and develop a modern, practical fighting style that drew "what was useful" from whatever discipline he could find, be that Western fencing or wrestling or whatever.
Further, he incorporated modern, cutting-edge exercise physiology into his training programs instead of slavishly following traditional methods that often had no basis in science.
The entire brunt of "Jeet Kun Do", his reluctantly-dubbed name for his ideas, was to develop a functional, efficient fighting style. He was not interested in competition or belts or the development of an "art".
Bruce Lee was in better physical condition than any athlete of his lifetime, so it isn't too hard to imagine that he really could fight. His movie career helped promote his realistic system of fighting called Jun Fan Gung-Fu/JKD Concepts.

There's a couple of primary source docus and interviews you can read.

He was a creative innovator for the martial arts. I am sure the UFC would have put a smile on his face. He was extremely well rounded and ahead of his time. He was just learning ground grappling before his death. My hat is off to him for learning all he could.
He was a talented martial artist and self promoter. If that makes you great well then he was, but then so were many others.
He was an extremely talented martial artist and, more importantly, an admirable human being on many levels.
You never know these days.
When i see his movies i don't find anything extraordinary. So why do people worship? What was so special in him?
