Tai chi and wing chun?

what does tai chi and wing chun have in common?

Wing Chun specifically works through the centerline. The hips are held fairly tightly. While Tai-chi uses all lines as well as circles and all joints of the body are participating in movement. The reason some people say there is a similarity is that each has a training method of slipping through the opponent's strikes. In Wing Chun it is "Sticky Hands" which has a certain number of set techniques with the arms and body held fairly tightly. In Tai-chi-Chuan it is "Push Hands" in which every joint of the body participates in the evasion as well as in the generation of force. But it is this similar exercise that is the closest tie to these two martial arts.

I wouldn't say they have much in common.. when one is hard style the other is a soft style.. tai chi full bases is to learn how to develop your chi or qi.. tai chi is used in two was for health or martial art.. in wing chun its used as martial arts only.. in saying this all martial arts have things in common only differ in teachings but all are for well being.. all martial arts use a center line which is the navel or belly button.. this is what is said to pull all your power or chi.. just like most martial arts each one has many systems.. like Chen style Tai Chi is said to come from Wu Dang Tai Chi.. Chen then formed Yang style Tai Chi and so on..

They are both Chinese martial arts (Wushu or Kung Fu). They are probably the most commonly practiced Chinese martial arts outside of China, at the moment.

Both are Chinese Martial arts, part of the Kung Fu combat system.
