It is not worth it if it will interfere with you studies. No extracurricular activity is.

I'm in my 3rd year in college. I need to earn a scholarship but I'm not that academically smart. I mean, I study very, very hard but I can't seem to reach the required grade for the academic scholarship. My family's business isn't stable. And there are six of us still studying in college.
I have Physics (4 units), Thesis (4 units), Software Engineering (3 units) and some other minor subjects this semester. Good thing I have long breaks in between.
Anyway, I'm very interested in joining our university's Taekwondo club as a beginner. I know that I'm physically fit enough to join. Buuut, I won't be getting an athletic scholarship until I'm able to fight in inter-school championships. So, that would be next semester. They said I need the proper training first for the whole semester.
Other kinds of scholarships have some requirements I couldn't meet.
Sooo, any advice about this? Am I doing the right thing? Or should I just stick to studying?
