Should we legalise bare knuckle fighting?

with all the medical research saying that repeated blows to the head are harmless should we legalise the ancient art of bare knuckle fighting

u can never prove the medical research to begin with

sure smoking causes cancer but those "research" are bent to begin with

everthing that says it has beeen research has an agenda behind it

just look at the parties u vote for to begin with

id say bring back the stomps and soccer kicks first and we ll see later

about bare knuckles

On the contrary, in the past decade or so, we've had a LOT of information about how harmful concussions can be:

With that being said, bareknuckle boxing would actually reduce the number of head traumas, because you can't actually punch a guy in the head with your bare fists for too long. Gloves and wraps are designed to protect the hand, not the other guy's head. In fact, under the London Prize Ring Rules, the old bareknuckle boxing rules, a lot of grappling was allowed, including basic sweeps and throws. That was largely due to the recognition that "boxers" couldn't actually keep punching each other in the head forever. A round ended when someone hit the ground, and especially in the later rounds, it was a throw much more often than a punch that put them down.

How about post links to all this medical research you mention. I don't believe that for a minute. I've been around to many people that are or have been hit in the head a lot. I can tell you that they will disagree with anyone saying that getting hit in the head repeatedly is not harmless.

....

I tell you what, let me punch this medical researcher in the head a few times with my fist, and when he wakes up, gets his teeth fixed, his broke nose fixed, the eye socket fixed,,, then he can write a book about how safe it is to get hit with bare hands.

No, the legality issues aren't to do with concern for the fighters,no one really cares about them.

When you've been to one you'll see how animalistic the crowd becomes, everyone gets a buzz from watching a good fight, but add in the possibility of someone being killed and the crowd goes, literally, wild. Mini fights happen in the crowd, people get knocked out and walked all over, guys who have had way too much to drink start dragging girls off the arena and attempt to rape them.

You don't know how much I wish I was exaggerating.

I adore martial arts but this turns people savage.

You have no idea what your talking about, this aspect of my heritage shames me beyond description.

repeated blows to the head are harmless? In which universe? O_o

Ever heard of Dementia Pugilistica?

And anyway, boxing gloves don't only protect who gets the punch, they primarily protect the hands of the puncher. It's not that difficult to break your hand if you punch all day without protection. Boxing without any kind of protection it's dangerous and dumb

In the ancient years they were using gloves as well in Boxing.....

The two pictures are from different ancient eras.

No, bare knuckle boxing is viewed as barbaric. No one will bring their families to see it.

What research, where is you proff of this so called research.

Gloves are not worn to limit damage to the head, they are worn to limit damage to the fighters hands when striking.
