Should Jose Aldo be No. 1 P4P?

I wouldn't have any objection to that. Like you say, he's been champ longer and has had a longer winning streak. He's finished most of his opponents, which is impressive considering some of the guys he's faced.

I DO think you're making too much out of Jones's "size" advantage. It's really only reach; dude is skinny. Guys like Couture, Griffin, and Rampage probably cut more weight. And while the reach is significant, the fact that his opponents, minus Gustaffsson, couldn't get past it probably speaks more of their lack of ring-cutting skills than anything.

Edit: eh, the first time Jones fought someone who had an understanding of RANGE, he had a tough time. That was Machida. Gus was similar. Rampage has good boxing, but it's "inside" boxing and requires you to get into exchanges. Evans has fast hands, but doesn't have the understanding of movement to use them like Gus. Vitor's also got technically solid punches, but doesn't know what to do when kicks are coming at him. Teixiera and Bader are sluggers. Shogun has gotten by a LOT on speed and athleticism, which are failing him now, and only really showed anything resembling a complex game place in the first Machida fight. Styles make fights. There just aren't a whole lot of good, honest-to-God STRIKERS at LHW.

As for aldo fighting "guys that were bigger than him"... who? Mendez, maybe? Aldo's big for FW. He's practically dwarfed (at least in visible mass) guys like Jung, Hominick, Faber, Swanson, and even Edgar, who was coming DOWN in weight. Mendez and Brown were about his size, but not really noticeable "bigger".

I think he is more deserving of the number 1 spot than Jon Jones, but being a featherweight makes him les marketable because common folk like to see heavies more. Not to say Jones isn't up there and marching towards greatness, I mean I can't stand his guts, his personality is obnoxious but I give him credit for his performances, and his last performance against Texieira was masterfull although I don't appreciate his long fingers doing the dirty work, none the less he shows the markings of an elite fighter. Aldo I believe is more technical and just better all-round fighter. Has more wins than Jones and more title defenses, and he wins fights by having more skill, he doesn't have the size advantage over his opponents on average.
