Should I keep doing martial arts?

Yes you should keep doing martial arts. You're in a class full of black belts but they weren't always black belts. They were once inexperienced white belts. They didn't earn the black belt rank by quitting so if you want to be like them, you'll have to go through the same long and difficult ride that they did, and one day if you don't quit you'll eventually get your black belt, but that'll never happen if you give up.

A class of black belts? Lucky you! Just think what you can learn from all these guys. I'd be picking their brains after class. Just think how good you can be if you stick with it and train hard. What can you possibly learn from other beginners? So suck it up and go at it. You are way too self conscientious.

Keep in mind that all those black belts started at the same place where you are at right now too. No good black belt forgets where they came from and give back what was given to him and does what was done to him. They too had black belt mentors at one time and some day you can be the mentor to some other beginner.

Like most kids your age, you are too engross with your own self imagine that it never occurred to you that other people's lives do not revolve around you. You screw up, you screw up. Others are going about their businesses of learning. They are not going to waste their time to even think about that beginner who messed up in class.

You are so caught up with yourself that you do not even realize what an opportunity it is to train with a group of more experienced classmates. Training with people who are better than you helps you improve and improve faster. You even get to see and experience advance techniques that you would not normally start training in for years later. You can even ask and get real useful advice. You can observe their forms and techniques every time one of them executes a move and see how it is suppose to be done.

When I was starting out in martial art, the advance class began after the beginners class and I would stay on the sideline after my class just to watch and learn; all the time wishing I could be practicing with them and ask them questions. You have that opportunity and you don't even appreciate it because you feel embarrassed at being a beginner.

On Wednesdays, I am always in a class of black belts, and I am the only low rank. It's the best, dude! you get to learn from people that actually know their stuff and wanna help you be the best that you can be. Remember all the lessons you will learn from martial arts, such as physcial, mental, and emotional benefits.Stick with it, man! It will be worth it in the long run.

Anyone worth the belt would be willing to help you. And I doubt you're really holding them up, they're black belts, they should know exactly what is expected of them as soon as they are told. I trust you'll catch on to the feel of the school fairly quickly, and, if not, you can always try a different school and see if you like it better

Liondancer has given an answer more aligned to what i was thinking, its your focus thats letting you down and personally i think its the martial arts that can help you with this, and you are really lucky to be in a class full of blackbelts, because if you want to reach a higher level of understanding and development , training with higher ranks is going to develop your understanding alot quicker,

So break that mindset you are in take the bull by the horns and go for it.

Maybe you should take up painting, that's a rewarding art.

True black belts will understand and help you improve

just think of those things that motivate you to do it.

think why u want to do it

I think you should keep doing it.

So I have a problem where everything I start I want to quit. And like I took my first class of martial arts today and like i already have that feeling but I don't want to feel that, like I want to quit but at the same time I don't want to feel like a failure. So one thing I don't like is I am a beginner and I am out in a class full of black belts because the ones in my level are all little kids ( I am 15 ) and it is just very intimidating to be there with a bunch of people who know what they're doing while I am holding up the class being confused. I know that I should keep going it's just.. I feel judged because I suck and then the forms I know it takes practice but even if I do the class I might still hold on the teacher and/or the class. Any advice that will help me feel better?
