Should I do martial arts?

Everything new is always challenging until you get the hang of it. Are you going to run away every time it gets hard in life? Continue in the adult class. And remember noone was born knowing martial arts. We all started where you are at right now. The only difference is we chose to stick it out, some did not and are no longer part of the class. Which one will you be?

Martial Arts is the best thing one can do with their life. In terms of hobbies that is. Because it's fun, gets you in shape, makes you super cool, teaches you how to defend yourself, and so much more! TKD is a great start and that's where most people start. Also look into arts like JiuJitsu, Boxing, or Judo!

If you want to learn TKD then take the class for teenager. Or better yet take an adult class if they allow it.

It's normal to feel confused and not be able to do everything. In fact you'll find it over and over as you learn new things. The great thing about martial arts is that it teaches us to learn to try, to keep trying and to work hard and not give up.

Now with that said I think any marital art is taught well it will help you gain confidence and help you grow as an individual. (and help you make decisions). If you should train in TKD is a question I can't answer as I'm biased against TKD as I see it more of a sport than a martial art. But at your age I think it would be good. Of course just know that TKD won't be as oriented to self defense like arts like Uechi Ryu. So just keep that in mind as you make your decision.

You have nothing to learn by sparring and fighting 8 year olds. Kids class is usually for kids 12 and under. You belong in an adults class. You want the more challenging experience. You don't get anywhere in life by never going outside your comfort zone.

go with the older kids. stick with it and you will catch on. everything new has an adjustment period

Yesterday I had my first ever taekwondo lesson and I'm a 15 year old girl. I went in the same class as my brother which is meant for under 13s. Our teacher said that I should go in the class afterwards which is a teenager class if I want to continue, although that class is more challenging. I even found the children's class I took yesterday confusing and challenging, so I don't know how I would go with the teenager class. I did like it, but it was really confusing. I don't know what I should do, I'm not good at making decisions :/ what do you guys think the best thing is that I should do? To continue or not to continue? Thanks in advance!
