Should Anderson Silva retire from the UFC?

I think it all depends on how well his leg heals. If he does come back to fight Weidman it will not dissuade those who think Silva should retire, but it would allow him to do so on a "high note". If he did beat Weidman and then retire, personally I think that would be kind of a " I got my ball back, I don't want to play with you anymore, I'm going home." kind of scenario.

As far as legacies go... Silva has a standing legacy of being one of the best to ever enter the octagon, so coming back just to rematch Weidman would not do anything to change perception of his skills. He will still have been one of the best, and he will still have been beaten twice by Weidman. If he were to come back and lose to Weidman again then that might diminish his retirement because everyone will say he should have just accepted that Weidman beat him, and shouldn't have left on the "low note", and God forbid if he should get reinjured in ANY fight if he comes back, especially that leg. You and I both know there are fighters out there who would target the leg as a weakness.

I say he should bow out gracefully, retire from active competition, and start training new, up coming, fighters if he has any concerns of his legacy diminishing.

It is my personal opinion that Silva should retire. But it only matter what his decision will be. He has nothing to prove to the world. In the Future he will be in the Hall of Fame.

Weidman on the other hand want to beat Silva. He want it to be a win so that the fans will not say it was a fluke. But that doesn't matter. People will always have something to say. Whether we like it or not right now he is the champ.

I agree, Silva has nothing left to prove to the MMA community. He may come back & beat Weidman but that won't stop haters from boasting about the first two fights. That being said, Silva fights because he loves it....so best of luck to him.

Yes he has nothing left to prove he is the GOAT

Not really.

Should anderson silva return to solidify his legacy. As much as i would like to see complete widmen rematch, I personally don't think Anderson has anything more to prove. I think the rematch would be more important to Widmens legacy....what's your thoughts?
