Question in Aikido?

Posted at: 2014-09-13
Saito shihan put out one for both jo and bokken. There are others that are available on You Tube.

A "jo staff" is actually the correct term for the jo, although, in many American dojo, it is imply referred to as a jo.

Wakarimasu, tomodachi? Beware of those who try to pass themselves off as being knowledgeable but are not.

uh huh.

So you didn't go to YouTube, you trained a year and a half ago and now that you won't be training for a month or so you suddenly want to get videos of which there are hundreds on Youtube.

And now, you say, you were spinning a "jo staff on fingers"?

No Aikido school calls them "jo staff", or even "staff". And they certainly don't spin them on fingers.

So, heaven helps those who help themselves. If you want a pity party because you won't be training for awhile, go to youtube and look 'em up.

Twirling a staff on fingers? Are you sure that wasn't in marching band?

There are many different styles of Aikido and jo forms to match. Which one are you looking for? There are tons of videos on youtube on jo. Have you even tried to look?

This summer i dont go to my Aikido trainings cuz my family wants to go somewhere this summer and they told that i wont be training this summer. And i want to ask are there any videos (maybe tutorials or something like that) on techniques on Jo staff and bokken. Cuz i trained on Jo and bokken maybe a 1,5 year ago and i totally forgot almost everything (still have skill in spinning staff on fingers :-) ). So help.
