I think he obviously would have done better. With that said, the cage would have effected his ability to sprawl, and the elbows would have added something new to his game. Look at how Cheik Kongo performed against him; he was able to clinch him and rough him up against the cage wall, and Kongo is nowhere near the striker that Crocop was in his prime. The environment negated a lot of Crocop's strengths. I think Velasquez would have beaten him without question. I think Roy Nelson would have been able to pressure him against the cage as well (Crocop notoriously had problems with pressure-fighters). I really think his style was suited more for the ring, because most of his UFC losses have more to do with the environment (getting roughed up against the cage) than losing a striking exchange out in the open.

A prime Cro Cop beat Josh Barnett like 3 times, and Barnett is ranked 5th in the world, currently. He would definitely have his chances at the belt.

First, because he was old he was not good? You really believe that? It's not true. He was older but it is not as much a result of being older as it was a result of being worn, for lack of a better term. He, and anyone in any form of fighting, got hit and hurt for years and years. The body, no matter what age, wears down from constant abuse. You can start at age 18 and if you fight and train enough by 22 you can be worn down as much as an "old guy". So forget the old crap.

As for the Pride vs UFC, it does not matter which, a fighter is a fighter. You think just because a guy in Bellator now suddenly goes to the UFC and that day can fight better or worse? So you are saying if you are a student in high school, that high school is known to be at or just below average in turning out "good" students with high scores and grades and you start going to the very best high school in the world you suddenly just become one of the smartest and best student ever? That's not how the real world works

pridefc had different rules ,u think gsp would get away with all his lay and pray

over in pridefc , he would have been yellow carded ,cro cop didnt train for the wrestler oriented

that the ufc had become plus he became lack daisekel (sp?) thinking it would be a cake walk

so it had more to do with his training and mental approach than anything else

an old cro cop or the cro cop of old shouldnt have had the problems he did but i guess

in retrospect his lack of a killer camp cost him

I know in the UFC he wasn't all that good because of age. But i was wondering if he was as young was he was in pride would he destroy the UFC? Is he really that good? tell me who do you think could beat him.
