Martial arts training?

Since you are really wanting to learn how to fight with friends and in bro-fights, I would suggest you walk into the nearest MMA place and sign up. I'm not trying to diss MMA, its just that what you are describing is a desire to learn fighting without the intent to kill or work on situational awareness and tactics. You also don't appear to have particularly enjoyed any of the more traditional arts you checked out for a few classes, so MMA seems like a perfect marriage for you. They won't teach you how to use a staff, but then again, when are you really going to use a staff when fighting the type of fights that it sounds like you are interested in? Just check out a few cane or bo videos and you'll learn enough to at least play around with your friends with a broom stick.

What motivation for training. Play fighting and bragging.

Look at all the arts available in your area. Go watch a class or two. Talk to the instructor most will let you try at least one class or a few for free then decide what you like the best and what instructor seems to be the best. If need be make up a list of questions to ask them and decide what is best for you.

Stick fighting-i forget what the name of the martial art it is, sorry, perhaps mma? Mauy thai is actually a very good martial art to get into if you like striking-its much more effective than tae kwon doe or karate.

Martial art training is not for play fighting or bragging rights. If those are the reasons why you want to learn martial art, then you are doing it for the wrong and childish reasons. Which is why you never stuck for more than a month with any martial art you took in the past.

I don't know about you i have been doing Taekwondo for about 7 years now im a second degree black belt and I'm mor than half way too my third degree and I have really taken a liking to Hyper it combines tricking and gymnastics (backflip, aerial, cartwheels etc.) with Taekwondo and karate it takes a lot of hard training but if you are looking at showing of move thats the most impressive by far. Just google search hypermartialarts

Don't be one-sided and stick only to what you prefer (efficient striking). Get a more rounded education by also sampling Aikido, Tai-Chi, Ba-Gua, Qi Gong, etc.

Stick to the bragging rights while you play Tekken , leave the real stuff for the big boys and girls

You must be Jagi from Fist of the North Star!

My friends all seem to know different types of martial arts which makes me feel a little inferior whenever we play fight or brag. My one friend knows mui thai, while another knows circle fighting, any ideas on what would be a good style for me? I don't prefer more of a defensive stance or grappling, i like striking efficiently and using weapons like a bo staff. (I took a little bit of wushu, judo, karate, and tae kwon do but only about a month in each)
