Martial arts?

I use to really hate the ground work side of martial arts because it use to remind me of bad $hit from the past so I can understand your anxiety about being pinned down. Having said this after training in jujitsu and judo (where this happens alot) it really helped me because I now know I can escape such situations so don't be afraid as those martial arts will help this.

Although in your case I suggest you start off with kick boxing because:

-Unlike boxing you only have to punch pads and learn to take punches holding pads. Meaning your teeth and nose will be fine. When you are good enough for full out sparring most people wear protective head gear. (Nose and teeth will be fine)

-You get the added bonus of not only learning it how to pack a punch (which wrestling would focus on) but doing powerful kicks as well.

- Increases level of fitness and flexibility.

-Really good to get rid of all that aggression. Take it from someone who knows, when you can keep hitting and jabbing and roundhousing until you've simmered out your anger you start to be in a lot more control in your outside life. Sweat it out.

Once you've dealt with your anger in kickboxing I suggest judo because it will help with your anxiety and uses a totally different skill set. I can now deal with contact without flinching and I put that down to my judo training so if it helped me I'm sure it could help you.

Hope this helped,good luck.

I would take BJJ if you are more interested in ground fighting. You may even like Judo.

I'm a 15 year old girl and I have really bad anxiety and anger problems. Punching stuff including people help me but obviously isn't good. I would do boxing but literally the only thing I like about myself is my teeth and my nose and I don't want to mess them up. I was thinking about wrestling but I'm scared with my anxiety I would get really anxious with a sweaty person on top of me. I don't like karate and stuff like that because I would want more physical contact. If you could give me more info on wrestling that would be great thanks.
