well for along time every body wanted to see Anderson silva vs Cung le.. while both were in their prime this was like 6 to 7 years ago.. the reason both in middleweight are considered the best standup fighters.. both now are reaching their 40's..... hey look Cung le has never been taken down in mma ..he has a back ground in wrestling so he will throw you .. I think Cung le does very well like all the best and use his space.. you need to watch Yi long the new shanshou champion ..great stand up fighter.. don't get me wrong cung le was killing guys in shanshou throwing them and using all of his kicks.. Yi long watch him face the Muay tai fighter.. but a dream fighter is not real so every one loses at some point..
Lyoto Machida is my second favorite fighter behind Anderson Silva. They're both getting old, but that doesn't matter. They're so fundamentally sound that as long as their still controlling their breathing well, they can beat anyone. Machida's takedown defense is amazing. He rarely wastes any energy throughout a fight. When he does though, it's to stop takedowns. Anderson is so confident that he doesn't even mind fighting off his back. Though he's getting older, and was recently injured, it's probably best he tries to stand as much as possible.
The current MW version of machida that just raped the K1/Dream legend that is MoosassE vs a prime anderson silva, vs a prime pre MMA cung Le, and vs a pro K1 guy, and a high level Muay Thai fighter like the one that embarrassed the K1 HWs like ignashov, mighty mo, etc or a tahi even better than him since he isnt even that highly ranked.
How would he do.
I think he is special and he just keeps getting better and better. That smashing of MoosassE was just an incredible technical display and seems to me like it could be world class striking rather than just high level striking in MMA. I mean MoosassE took out all those K1 and dream kickboxers and Machida raped him.
