Lookin for high quality katanas?

Posted at: 2014-09-13
I'd not buy a Katana from a Japanese sword smith. not because there is anything wrong with them, but because you can get high quality Katana much easier and cheaper. I recommend Cold steel and cheness. I have a cheness Kaze-Ko-Katana. It is very well made. The blade is spring steel. It cuts well. And it cost me only about $220.

Look up cheness. They have many different Katana.

Oh, and Japanese words do not become plural by adding an "s" on them The word Katana can be used to indicate one or many katana. In fact if I say I have several katana, the word several tells the reader that I'm talking about more than one sword. The same holds true of all Japanese words. No "s" should be added to the word.

...

I was looking at the cold steel ones, what's the difference between the warrior and emperor Katana? Also, anyone can tell me the procedure for importing?

You may want to specify your budget, because a master smith from Japan will charge thousands of dollars for a sword. If you specify a budget and just ask for a good katana to fit that budget more people will be willing to help you.

Seriously, as mentioned, Cheness. Especially their 9260 Spring Steel Line.

Also look at Coldsteel

Hi!

Looking for really high quality katanas that are traditionally made, hopefully by master smiths from Japan. Does anyone know where I can find these?

If not, can anyone suggest high quality katanas by better forges. Have been reading mixed reviews on every single Forge so have no idea who to buy from.

Lastly, anyone knows what's the regulations and procedures for importing sharpened katanas?

Thanks in advance!
