Karate clubs?

actually gichen funakoshi did very little for the Jka other then the jka being composed of his senior students and being all shotokan at the time he had little to nothing to do with it.

the jka is probably the third largest shotokan organization or closes to it,

there is nothing wrong with belonging to a jka dojo or non-jak dojo as long as you have a good instructor. if you think your dojo is changing and found a better one then change dojo's.

btw there is no guarantee on how good an instructor will be regardless of the organization or the style.

''part of something called JKA''

The JKA is the head organisation of Karate founded by the master Gichin Funakochi himself and trained many legendary karateka's. Join that club right away. Because a dojo that's registered as an official JKA dojo will guarantee you to learn everything as it should be and you know for 100% that your not dealing with a mcdojo like in the one you are currently training. Also the JKA has their own belt system and exam programs and respect tradition. To be a sensei in a JKA dojo you need to take very hard exams and perform them perfectly while getting judged by the head of the JKA in your country. Don't hesitate , join the JKA one.

My current club has decided to move it's gradings to an area which is an hours drive away because it is cheaper and the event is all day, but in the past few weeks I have been dissatisfied with the way my club has been acting for example they have increase the price from £5 to £8 a session and this has force me to go only once a week now rather then two. Also my head club instructor who owns the club was rude to me when I asked him that our club should attend more competitions we have one which is intra club only. I'm currently a purple and white belt, and I'm thinking of moving to a different club for the main reasons are price and distance for gradings also any events they hold are at this new centre which is so far away eg squad training. So do you think I should move my other club near me is £5 a session but is part of something called JKA and mine isn't will there be a problem if I goto this new club like they might say I'm actually a green belt by there standards not purple and white ? Has anyone had similar experiences help me please? Also the new club is pretty close and they seemed friendly on the phone but I did not discuss that In doing karate. Thanks
