Karate belt test tips?

I just got my Black last Sunday, I was insanely nervous as it was my fourth attempt.

The best thing to do is relax and don't watch other people as you may see them do something different and it will make you doubt your self. If you relax and stay in the zone, your muscle memory will kick in and you'll be fine.

Since it is not your first kyu test you know what are the requirements. Get to know what are the kata that are included in the syllabus. Some dojos ask for any kata that the student has learnt, some have specific kata for specific bet. Whatever it is practice your kata properly before you test. Next make sure you do your khion properly (do not attempt to do high kicks if you can't, make sure your form is good). Finally make sure you know the terms well. Eg: If the examiner asks you to demonstrate a Mae Giri you can't afford to stare at him! So learn the terms. Make sure you do not get injured in any way.

Night before the test and on the day, do not eat anything new. Go with your regular dinner and breakfast.

On the day of your test, there will be many who give you advice! STOP! Do not listen to them. Do what you know. And while performing do not think of the result. Just think its not a test and that whatever you do, you do the best.

Just picture your self fighting against an actual person stay focused and don't give up

Best advice is to pay attention, and try to be relaxed.

The tension is counterproductive to your goal.

That is the hardest lesson of martial art, it to relax, so you can move properly.

Do your best, and you should be successful.

for test of shotokan karatê, need kata, kihon and kumitê.

Now let me re iterized it should only be Ka Rah Te.

So I've got a shotokan karate test this week and I've been really nervous about it, I've done one a few months back and it's pretty difficult to get the next belt in our class. Do you have any tips on how to do well in a kyu test?

Thanks in advance
