Karate Question?

Take Shotokan.

I know it's a short answer, but Shotokan will work better.

Sankukai is all right, still a very good form of karate, but Shotokan has been around longer and has a better reputation.

Go to the school with the better teacher though.

And stay away from mc-dojos.

Hey there guys.

I'm not the biggest of guys at the moment, and I am interested in a lot of martial arts, although I haven't started any yet. I like the idea of Judo and Jujitsu, but I don't think they're quite for me. I would like to do Kendo or Muay Thai, however neither of those have clubs/dojos on my island, so that's out of the question. I would do Aikido too, but yet again, not availble.

This only really leaves Karate. There are two types of Karate available on my island: Shotokan and Sankukai. I've looked at both of them, and they both seem to be a combination of other martial arts. This is good for me because I don't really like sticking to one thing too hard. Unrelated example, but if I can only go down one skill tree in a game, I usually get a bit frustrated. However, do not base the variety of techniques on your answer, just the fact that it's a bit of a mish-mosh is good enough for me.

Basically, I'd like a head-to-head comparison of the two styles, how they're different, advantages, disadvanages, everything. I'm planning to go to one of these styles tomorrow because I really want to get into Martial Arts and I think it'll be my primary activity outside of work.

The reason I want to learn martial arts is for a few reasons: One) I have always wanted to get stronger and stop being called cute. It's so annoying. Two) I want to become more confident.

I really would love any detailed answers.

Thanks
