To say guys like Cain started training late is a bit misleading. He was a NJCAA champion and 2 time division 1 all american wrestler. High level wrestling is considered to be a great base to start out with. The majority of current UFC champs have wrestling backgrounds.
Very few BJJ practitioners put in the years that a wrestler does. A 21 year old MMA rookie might have 10-17 years of wrestling experience. This is the norm for a high level wrestler not the exception.
It's never too late but in all honesty every UFC fighter I know of (correct me if I'm wrong) either had some martial arts training or was already an accomplished athlete. Travis Browne may have had the least martial arts training without a wrestling background but he was an accomplished athlete (basketball).
Great athletes tend to have much higher success in crossing over to other sports.
No its not Too late U still have time to become a fighter..But just work hard like hell.come on fighter Work harder than anybody else.......
