Is kicking a bad move to use in a fight?

Next time just use a spinning wheel kick. Then after he regains consciousness you can laugh when he says it was a "pussy" move. In an actual fight anything goes. He tried to book check you, and you knee checked him...sounds good to me.

Not wanting to know all kicks should stay below the second part of the thigh but if you break the persons leg that's a felony.

Few people like to get kicked in the knee.

If you want to fight for social status, then you can listen to your training partner there.

If you want to train for life and death on the battlefield, martial war, then all tools are equally valid. For each context, a tool may be better than others, but there is always a context for every tool.

In self defense there is no such thing as fair only survival.

In a fight(like a duel fight which no should be involved in because it's stupid) a kick is fair. If there is anyone who thinks otherwise then they are still living in Victorian age when everyone boxed. Tell him to get with the times because not only is kicking fair, but now people are fighting on the ground too.

In a contest(as in tournament, sparring, and etc.) whatever rule doesn't exclude should be fair.

In a playful book checking in the hallway because you are silly kids then you probably shouldn't use any combative strikes like kicking. Stick with grappling without any throws and locks to keep things safe.

If it's fight it's a fight. Use anything.

He was probably just mad that you beat him your way. Don't worry about who thinks what moves will be allowed in a real fight, everything goes in a real fight. If you have been taking TaeKwonDo for 4 years, then kicking is most likely your best bet in a real fight to be honest. Pertaining to your original question, just no balls shots. Those suck.

Very bad move unless your VERY well trianed in kicking. Stick with a solid punch to the lower jaw

Today, some guy tried to book check me so I kicked him in the knee with my heal then he flipped out on me and called me an asshole and told me that kicking is a "pussy move" to use in a fight. I'm a black belt in TaeKwonDo and I've been taking it for four years. I personally think kicking is a great self-defense maneuver. He gave me a list of all the "pussy moves" to use in fighting. He said pinching was one too. I kind of agree with that. Like if you pinch someone's skin so it stings, sure that's pretty low, but I mean like pinching the pressure points, that's a good move to use to get them to back off. I just want some honest opinions on what you think is a "pussy move" in fighting.
