Is boxing the best form of martial arts?

MMA fighter will be best in a street fight lol since they can take the fight to the ground when can't strike or strike when can they cant fight on the ground.. being well-rounded is always the best.

Wing Chung is a bad joke.

Though it is down to the individual fighter rather than the style, the average MMA fighter would beat the average boxer. Boxing VS Muay Thai would be close, but I'd imagine Muay Thai would probably win.

I respect boxing's fighting style but MMA involves boxing. I seriously doubt you could compare boxing and MMA, its like comparing yellow to a rainbow. Which holds the prettier power? Clearly a rainbow has yellow.

Sure, why not?

As long as the other guy doesn't bring any weapons and multiple people along with him.

As long as neither of you tie up, grab each other, fall to the ground, etc...

There is no best form of martial arts. If there was one, then everyone, would practice the same.

I am going to explain something in Wing Chun, since you have mentioned it.

Yip Man's lineage Wing Chun has 6 forms. 3 open hand, the wooden dummy one, and two weapon forms.

If someone touches hands, or a hand, with his/her partner and practice from that distance, with no gloves or rules, (just don't hurt each other) then what he/she will practice is to be found in the 3 open hand forms and the wooden dummy one. In addition he/she will find in the second form, the closing the gap (closing the distance).

The movements from a distance are to be found in the weapons forms. In addition there is a constant wrist training in the Wing Chun forms. So Wing Chun is not optimized in the ring with gloves.

From a distance either weapons are to be used, or closing the distance and from a close distance, no rules or gloves. (Just don't hurt each other).

As someone who studies boxing as a science and martial art, there is no way I'd ever call it "the best form". As far as boxing vs. MMA, here's an article I wrote years ago that should give you some ammo:

Here's boxer Arthur Williams fighting in a "boxing vs. kickboxing" match in the K-1 organization:
