Is 15 too late to start taekwondo?

Step one. Read page after page of this forum vs. posting the same question over and over. This is a question many teenager seems to have for some crazy reason. If you read the forum you would have this answer as it gets asked, asked, asked.

Some children may start young others start at teenagers. Some start as adults. Some start as senior citizens.

There is no right or wrong age. All depends on the individual.

I always use this example. Chuck Norris began in the arts as a 19 year old stationed in Korea in the US Air Force. I think he did pretty well in the marital arts.

WHY do some teens think they have to be 4 or 5 to start marital arts? I don't understand that line of thinking.

Paul, perhaps they are in an area that doesn't have a huge list of arts to choose from or maybe they want to train for competition, fitness etc. I think that everyone that trains should do it in case they need to use in a self defense situation but I think it's a personal judgment call as to what art or reason someone chooses to train.

Not at all. Although I followed in my moms footsteps and took up karate early (later added muay thai, japanese jujitsu and boxing) my dad started in collage and my 22 year old brother started this year.

Not at all but i would try Muay thai its insane and is 10 times better TKD is useless in my opinion

No dude 15 is fine

Why would it be too old? There are people who are retirement age who start training.

No.

I'm a 15 year old girl and I really want to start taekwondo. My brother is 10 years old and he just received his blue belt. He has been teaching me some moves and I really enjoy it. I want to start taking lessons, but is 15 too old to start? Thanks! ^-^
