How would one sheathe a lance, halberd or spear?

The sheathe for a spear would just be a covering on the tip, and then people would use it as a walking staff or to carry bundles over their shoulder.

Lances were supposed to be used with horses, so the sheathe is on the horse, and the person just sockets the lance in the groove.

Daggers have sheathes like shoulder holsters for guns. They may be attached to belts or hidden at the ankle.

Sword sheathes are worn at the hip or behind the back.

There are no sheath for long weapons such as spears or lance as there are for swords for the simple reason it would make it extremely slow to draw them out in time to use against an attacker. There are holders on horse saddles similar to cupholders in modern cars where the weapon can be held in place. The usual method when transporting a long weapon is to cover the metal portion such as the tip or blade with a cloth or leather covering (like a sock).

It wouldn't work very well, it would be super awkward and just silly looking in real life, just because of a lance's length. All of those weapons are not meant to be swung around by androgynous purple-haired teenagers, most were carried on horseback, then dropped for foot combat. Spears and some others were ungainly but useful weapons because they outreached swords. They'd be around 7-10 ft long in real life, so it would be very difficult to sheathe any of those weapons.

they wouldnt re-sheath a pole-arm weapon. the sheaths sheaths are more for storage or traveling then the battle field at least for these type of weapons.

I've been watching alot of anime (like sword art online) ive noticed that all these weapons from daggers, katanas and even axes have their own "holsters" (the actual terminology is escaping me right now), but i have not seen anyone have their long wooden shaft weapons are always wielded and never sheathed, would they put in a small holster on their back or on their hip like a sword, thanks!
