If suspected of being followed make three consecutive right turns which will bring you back to where you originally started at or on the same route traveling in the same direction and see if anyone does the same. Consider wearing a hat maybe which you can at times take off but which will conceal your hair and its general color as well as help hide features of your face.
Get a few "Where is Waldo" books and learn. He is sometimes really hard to spot in those pictures.
