How to get into shape for karate?

Stop procrastinating and join

You don't have to be in shape to join karate you will get in shape as you train. That is one of the purposes behind karate to help get in shape and keep you in shape.

I just answered this earlier today.

Putting off training for karate with the intention of getting in shape first will only put off your karate training that much longer. And how do you determine when you're "in shape enough" to finally start? If you really want to do it, just start. You will get in shape as you go.

Assuming you have some reason beyond 'Just because' to wait for starting, you've probably got access to your highschool's coaches and gym teachers at some point during the day. Set up an appointment to talk to them about wanting to get into shape, and ask them for their advice.

Odds are, they're better equipped to give you advice than someone on the internet simply due to their being familiar with you and where you're at- Completely disregarding the fact that unless they're totally green themselves, they've probably got years of experience trying to get kids just like yourself into better condition all day every day.

And if you're putting signing up off for 'Once you're in good shape', then go ahead and just do so now. Even if that's the case, though, you should still talk to your coaches. They're pretty much the best, most undervalued resource for any kid wanting to get into better condition.

Why wait? Start Karate today. As you start your martial arts training you can workout on your own. To work the bodyparts you are talking abt. You need to get a book called 'Convict Conditioning' you can find the pdf version for nothing online It breaks down every exercise from start to finish.

You will see that most of the exercises in the book are going to be similar too what you do in martial arts. As well it compliments your martial arts program.

You get into shape for karate by join a karate dojo and training. Then you can do some other exercises at home and remember to practice what you have learned at home

Save some time and join karate now and let them whip you into shape unless you want to join to show off.

Why not join now, and exercise the days you don't train?

Just make sure it's not a Mcdojo before you begin.

Btw there's no such thing as perfect shape.

You don't need to be in shape, just go join. Martial arts will get you in shape.

pushups, squats, situps, pullups

I'm a guy,15,122 lbs,5'4 and I want to get in shape and work out my chest, core, shoulders, back, neck, and arms for karate in 2 months (I don't expect to be In perfect shape by then)
