You don't need to know how to "become" a fan. If you are interested in sumo wrestling and you follow it, then you "are" a fan. You might be able to find Japanese channels online where you can keep up with sumo events.
your pretty much already a fan
I've seen sumo matches every now and then, but I've recently really wanted to know more. I wanted to ask does anyone have recommended sites for watching, reading, and discussing sumo? I'd like to be a better fan and really see more of it. I'm an american with a pretty low grasp on the japanese language, but I don't mind if the videos or things aren't in english i'll figure something out.
