How to be good in close combat ?

Ah, hello again!

It seems as if you truly are interested in becoming a martial artist.

First things first, it's still hard to tell if you are trying to mock us by putting back flip in there, perhaps you would like to be a ninja too?

But you sound like an average, I'd say 14-15 year old kid and I will do my very best to help.

You may want to first distinguish if you want to do more of a striking art, or a grappling art.

The truth is, that any martial art would be good as none of them are superior to another. The matter is more finding a dojo (gym, or whatever it is) that is legitimate. There are so many scammers out there that have taken advantage of the interest in martial arts and have set up places that not only steal your money, but also teach you utterly useless techniques.

So I reccomend that you do some research about some different styles, and look at some of the places aroung you and try them out. Most places have a one month trial, if they don't, I would not reccomend going there.

You may want to look at karate, it is a striking art that requires speed and agility, however it probably has the most scammers out there, so be wary.

Hahaha seriously, let me just say this, in almost 25 years of martial arts i have NEVER used a back flip or seen a backflip used that has had any success. If you want to learn gymnastics then go and learn gymnastics.

Also there is no reason a person with speed and agility cannot have power in their strikes. you obviously dont have good technique.

I dont really need to say a lot because you are still way down the pecking order and need to focus more on the basics than the serious stuff. Train hard and learn basics first

I recommend studying a martial art that specializes in close quarter fighting. Research wing chun, kwong sai jook lum mantis, jujitsu, pencak silat, escrima/arnis/kali.

Find a good instructor, and obtain training from him/her.

You can do no better than that, and it takes time.

Ant martial art will do, if the instructor is good.

Practice, Practice, Practice.

Spar, spar, spar.

Refine and brush up on technique.

Repeat the process.

i am very fast and very agile and i prefer agility and speed over streinght so my punches do not deal alot of damege so i wonder how can i improve my combat style how can i do a back flip i tried once but i failed and it hurts teribly and any tips how to be faster ?
