how much do they make can somebody tell me. Please

Not a lot. Here are the prize monies from the World Jiujitsu Cup in 2010:

So your gold medalists in the purple, brown, and black-belt divisions are making $12K USD. While that's pretty good for a day's work, the article itself notes that this is much more money than is generally paid, and there's no indication that you get paid at all if you don't medal. Tack onto this the expenses of traveling (it was held in Abu Dabhi, after all), training, medical bills, taxes, etc, and you're not ACTUALLY getting that much. Plus, that was a single event. I've rarely seen Jiujitsu tournaments with pro divisions outside of black belt. Competing isn't a great way to make money. Most competitors have day jobs, even if it's owning their own school.

If you are talking about professional grappling tournament fighters then the answer is not a lot. This is why the elite ones head to MMA or even open their own academy or teach seminars to earn enough for their expenses to travel and compete. Even then only the best in the world get this opportunity.

It is not a career path.

They make jack $hit. If you want to make money as a fighter you are more or less limited to boxing and MMA.

If you want to make money grappling its the Olympics or WWE.

Jiu Jitsu isn't fighting. Its an art, it's all about finesse.

Ju is fun..
