All fighters in the UFC have had success as professional MMA fighters in other organizations. Find a gym that can get you fights. I'd suggest starting off at the amateur level, where you can "afford" to make mistakes and correct them before you go pro.
The UFC is a company, an organization. They employ people to fight for them. It's just like trying to get into a sport team. They have scouts that they send out, looking for talent. And it's basically a business that's about who you know and who you blow.
There are thousands of MMA gyms across the world but only a handful who have good connections with the bigger organizations. Your best chance is to be in a bigger city, train with someone who has the connections, maybe has someone in the UFC who used to train with him. You can not contact them and say "Hi, my name is bla bla and I want to fight for you". They're going to laugh in your face.
