How can I do more push ups?

The way to build up strength is to make sure you are giving your body enough rest. Exercise does not build up - it tears down muscles. It is the rest you get that allows the muscles to heal and regrow stronger than before. This means if you do the pushups one day, you should rest and not do any the next day.

Since 25 seems to be your max for now, shoot for 26 and add one more every couple of weeks.

Personally, I have severe doubts about any schools that issues a black belt to someone 13 years old or requires 50 pushups which has no real world significance, but pushups are pushups and what I wrote will help you.

Practice.

Build it up each day, start on day one and do 10, then 20 day 2, 25 day 3, and so on, just build it up day by day, and it shouldn't take you long to do 50.

I am 13 and need to get to 50 push ups because I do taekwondo and I went for my junior black belt but I failed my push ups. My teacher said I would have passed easily with my skill and my great kicks but I just need to work on those push ups. For my test my teacher says down and up and that's what I do I have to go all the way down with out touching the ground and up.If I get tired and I touch my knee to the ground I fail my test. I could only get to 25. So I worked on my push ups all the time at home all through summer break, and more. I was always working on them but when the test came I only go 29! My push ups are just getting really good and I mean really good but I can't do more of them it's weird. I am a girl and all the boys in my class have more upper body strength naturally. My younger brother has a junior black belt without any effort he got all 50 push ups and I have been working my butt off and am not improving. My teacher says I have the most determination he has ever seen in a person.I don't see why girls don't have less push ups like the military but I don't know I just know I need to get more push ups done in a row. I keep on practicing but I can't find and good ways to get more done. Any ideas? PLEASE HELP
