Define what your idea of "Best" is..... no one is best in every way. Everyone has strengths and weaknesses. Ask five different people what the term "best" means to them with regards to the question you asked and you will get five different answers. Sorry but the question is not reasonable. Besides everyone has good days and bad ones. Look at past champions. From time to time you find someone that everybody thinks is unbeatable only to find that every now and then someone cleans their clock with ease. Not necessarily because the other fighter is better but he got lucky or the champ was not at his best.

well BJ penn used to be the best.. but hes old now.. outta all those guys u guys named I go with rashad evans man...

Penn has accomplished more and is WAY more well-rounded than any of the others. He's been a UFC champ in two weight classes, has had a number of defenses at LW, was competitive at WW and MW (WAY above his natural weight class), is heading down to FW where he'll probably still have a solid career, has got great BJj and boxing, and has surprising takedown and TD defense skills. Evans and Filipovic ("Cro Cop") are next- Evans won the HW title and is a perennial contender, and has great wrestling and boxing skills. Filipovic won the Pride Openweight GP in 2006, and in his prime was the most feared striker in MMA with a solid defensive grappling game (TD defense and guard). Sonnen and Guida are pretty one-dimensional and haven't really accomplished much.
