You can not teacher yourself something you don't know (you just proved that!) just like you can not come from where you have not been. Think about it.
Kendo uses both shinai AND bokken. The bokken is used during kendo kata with a training partner, and even then the bokken they utilize has a pretty standard design so I doubt that one would meet their criteria.
Kendo cannot be practiced by yourself, it requires a training partner (definitely an instructor), and self-study of any martial art is not recommended. Training videos are best used in conjunction with in-person training, not as a substitute.
Kendo is practiced with a shinai, a bamboo sword that is designed to absorb some of the impact of the blows. You do not use a metal bladed sword such as a katana and you would never use a live blade.
Kendo is also a sport, Iaido and kenjutsu are the arts of the Japanese sword and with both, the beginner starts his practice with a wooden bokken.
Kendo, as a sport, requires partner training so that one may develop timing, balance, speed and accuracy. It also requires specific body armor designed especially for the practice of kendo.

Okay so I live in tassie and I want to so Kendo it's basically a martial art technic involving swords but to do so I need a sword and a teacher but there's none any where near me so I'm wondering is it possible to do kendo by self learning and I need a good practice sword so I'm also wondering would this be a good sword to so kendo practicing with???
