There's a huge variety of ways to defend against the headlock and the hip toss. The simplest is keeping them at range with a solid jab. Also, you can turn your hip in to block them whenever they go for the throw. I've been wrestling for a while, in judo for YEARS before that where this is a very common throw, and this is a really hard move to hit against anybody who knows what they're doing.

How to defend against the head lock in MMA?

How would you defend against the head lock throw? (So get the arm around theirr head/neck get a tight grip, rotate the hips fling them to the ground you end up in side control with a submission already applied and its something very hard for them to get out of)
