Hand to hand combat artists vs MMA?

Anyone can win is the simple and true answer.

Anyone can be beaten on any given day. There is always someone better.

MMA is a great sport! I enjoy it. I even train with some MMA guys pro and amateur. I help train some to get ready for a fight. But these guys prepare for the sport. The prepare for the rule set of the sport. They don't prepare for someone trying to put their eyes out. They don't prepare for someone trying to destroy their limbs. They are great at preparing for a fight. But fighting is not self defense or war even thought it is just a part of it.

Let's start with 'My money's on the MMA guy' and 'If Jon Jones goes against a normal martial artist then I might even bet all my life saving'.

With joking aside the problem with your situation is that you still made the situation a duel. MMA is essentially a duel and it will win in a duel setting. Really even without rules martial artists don't really practice non-stop illegal techniques. They usually use techniques that would be MMA legal for the most of the art. So I don't think it'll make much of a difference.

I think traditional has an argument when they say that MMA won't excel as much when it comes to other areas of self defense like weapons and multiple opponent defense. But exception of the arts that regularly practices the mentioned situation I don't think other martial artists would do that much better than MMA.

It depends upon the people involved and the situation A mma fighter might feel less comfortable in a real life situation , where an experienced and well trained traditional martial artist, with a military background might be in his comfort zone. Familiarity with a situation counts for a lot. It speeds reaction times, because you know what comes next, without conscious thought.

A practitioner vs an MMA fighter. It depends in skill, there is never a martial art that could beat another. All have their pros and cons. Now an experienced street fighter vs a guy like Jon Bones Jones? Not a chance, street fighting really has no base or whatever while Jon Bones Jones has has a strong base in fighting. The street fighter would lose in a matter of seconds, even a white belt who remembers some of his moves would be able to beat a street fighter.

MMA practitioners know all aspects, including hand to hand so statistically the mma fighter should win but it's a fight so anything could happen.

I think MMA fighters are stronger.

there's nothing guarantee for everyone win in real situation fighting, anything could be possible in unrules fighting although they were learned martial art so long, but street fighter or traditional martial artist have bigger change why? they used to fight without rules but MMA fighter don't, it would be habbit if they have to fight sudden.

I just answered something like this yesterday. Here it is: MMA *is* "hand to hand combat".

The guy yesterday implied he was referring to military combatives; is this what you're referring to as well? I'd still refer back to my other answer: modern military combatives take their cues from MMA, among other things. In fact, the US Army's "Modern Army Combatives Program" is heavily Gracie Jiujitsu oriented with aspects of Muay Thai and boxing. Or, you know, three of the more common "tributary" systems to MMA. The difference is that MMA fighters spend a LOT more time honing their unarmed combat skills than the training almost everyone gets in the military. If there's a guy in the military who's good an unarmed combat, it's almost always because he has prior and/or outside training.

As for your "average guy", he's not the same thing as a "good experienced street fighter". With that being said, anyone can get lucky, but the harder you train, the luckier you get. It would be very hard for someone without Jones's training and experience to beat him unless he sucker-punched him.

In a real life situation ( no points ) would hand to hand combat practitioner usually beat and or kill an MMA fighter? What about a good experienced street fighter vs someone like Jon bones jones? Is it possible an average guy could get lucky and knock someone like him out? I know these are random question , sorry.
