Good martial arts for short girl?

styles are made to adapt to your body type

There is no best style.

They will all work as long as you train right and have a good instructor.

Your size, body type and sex have nothing to do with the style you want to choose. People that think that your size and body type determine the style know little to nothing about martial arts

Most people will tell you there style is the best or they heard such and such is a great style,

The style is not important, what matters is how good your instructor is and how you train. The style is secondary, they all have there pro's and con's there are no superior styles.

If you have an instructor that can’t teach you how to fight, regardless of the style, what good would it do you?

Choose a school with a good instructor in the end that’s all that matters, that and how you train.

Its the person that has the ability to fight not the style

fyi

most Japanese were around 4 feet tall, and they invented kendo

Okay, let's get this straight. It really does not matter how big you are in martial arts, being small means you have speed and agility on your side whereas being big means they have strength on their side. The benefits of being small balances out the cons. I am 5"2 (nearly 5"3!!) and I can beat guys and girls who are alot bigger and alot stronger. And when someone bigger does beat me, it's not because they used brute force, it's because their techniques were so good. Okay so now we've got the "I'm too liccle to fight" issue out the way I'll give you some suggestions of different martial arts and what they'll do fir you in the long run:

- Judo, otherwise known as the 'gentle' way, judo involves no kicking or punching or breaking boards. What it does involve is throwing people around the mat like their a rag doll. And also groundwork (Hold downs, arm locks, strangled for when the fight goes to the floor). It's not too intense so quite a nice martial art for a first timer. It works on core strength and focuses on using efficiency,NOT strength in throws.

- Kickboxing , you learn some nice powerful punches and kicks. Improves flexibility and cardio. I think it's pretty self explanatory.

- Eskrima, (or Escrima ) refers to a class of Filipino Martial Arts that emphasize stick and sword fighting. The teaching of the basic skills in FMA are traditionally simplified. With limited time to teach flashy and intricate techniques, only skills that were proven effective in battle and could easily be taught en masse were used. At first your like, this is easy, then your instructor starts fighting back... So fun though.

- Karate, look into it, I don't train in it myself but it's a very well respected art.

-Jujitsu,There are many variations of the art, which leads to a diversity of approaches. Jujutsu schools may utilize all forms of grappling techniques to some degree (i.e. throwing, trapping, joint locks, holds, gouging, biting, disengagements, striking, and kicking).

- AKBAN, I think this art should be way more popular so it gets an honourable mention... teaches combat oriented Bujinkan Ninjutsu as a way of life since 1985. No nonsense attitude, is the learning place of more than 100 veteran black belts and no more then 300 students in all the AKBAN dojos.

training enables:

-Superb fitness – gradual program written by Yossi Sheriff

-Many years of full contact realistic training

-A wide knowledge of many martial arts.

Hope I gave you some ideas to think on. Good luck fellow little one.

Wing Chun Kung Fu is ideal for short girls, the style was actually invented by a woman. Aikido and Hapkido are also great, because these styles require no physical strength.

Try MMA, its non uniform. You can tailor your techniques n style to your body type.
