Get better at taekwondo?

Taekwondo isn't purely about using your legs. Hand strikes and grapples are an important component to the martial system.

Keep training with your tutor. During my time in taekwondo, half of the training was strictly in the legs. Not just for kicks, but also balance, flexibility, and ground force.

You will get used to using your legs for strikes. They're not entirely needed. You can definitely win with just punches, elbows and good ol' fashioned aggression.

Wow, a Taekwondo fighter not using their legs. I'm kidding, but a person who's not very good with their legs can be common amongst beginner (if you are). Your instructor should help you on that. Don't worry, you'll get better. When I first started training in Karate, I stretched the wrong way and my roundhouse kick was not very good. I kept practicing at home and gradually got better. All you have to do is give it time.

Good luck with your training!

I recently won the itf England competition in sparring. But I won it by brute force I just punched as hard as I could. The first 2 needed ice packs. But it's not really taekwondo if I don't use my legs. So do you have any ideas on how to get my legs better.
