Does Breathing out While Punching Increase Attack Strenght?

I Often Read that with he right breathing technique you can hit harder (or duel more damage to your oppenent). Is that true, (and if it is, How)

What you're really asking about is how to transfer energy. Exhaling per se isn't going to make your strikes harder, but if done right it will help you relax, and transfer the energy better and faster. And as we know the force will increase as the speed increases.

One of the reasons that we suggest getting a good instructor as this sort of stuff isn't easy to learn and it isn't easy to teach. And it's why finding someone who has studied martial arts a long time under someone highly qualified is so important. Also there is a lot of misunderstanding about what is going on, and that will only hurt you not make you strike better and harder.

Breathing is important, because if you hold your breath, you will become weaker faster, so in that since, yes it causes more damage.

But in Kempo, we Kiai. That's a scream (think the iconic HIYA!) with each strike. This does alot more than just breathing: Helps us breath, makes adrenaline run through the body, creates a natural air shield if you get hit in the torso, and scares you opponent (think, who really screams in a street fight? It will scare almost anyone).

it can increase your power, lower fatigue and protect you when getting hit. Each strike should have an exhale.

Edit: its quite obvious that Another doesn't know what we are talking about. Least he is honest

No, not gonna do any more damage to your opponent. Dunno what these guys are talkin about.

Reason you exhale is because, as you could imagine, if you hold your breath you'll run outta steam real quick.

you don't control the breathing on video games!
