Do you have any tips for beginner kickboxers?

Don't be intimidated by how good everyone else seems. Kickboxing was the first art I took up before going for some of the older, more traditional styles. I remember in my first class I wasn't even paired up with someone because of how bad I was,the had me stood with a bag whilst the instructor corrected pretty much everything about me: my stance,my posture,my speed. I felt kinda worthless because all the other kids got to work with one another and here I was, doing dumbed down sequences.

But I stuck at it,and in 4 weeks time I was a fully participating member of the class, the workouts were hard at first but I loved the challenge and discovered I was not bad at all really. There's this special peace you feel as you perform the sequence given, all worries are washed away with the concentration being put into moves. So don't expect to be very good straight off the bat,but stick at it and learn to love it.

Hope this helps. Train it. Fight it. Live it. Love it.

Like any sport, kickboxing requires time, practice and dedication to get good at it. Kickboxing is tough to explain. Its a form of fighting utilizing punches, jabs and kicks. There are usually less injuries in kickboxing compared to traditional boxing because there are more pads to dull what would be potentially very harmful kicks. If you have intentions to stick with it and get good, I would go to a personal coach or group lessons. I would also practice sets of different types of punches, jabs and kicks at least once a day. If you stick with it for an extended period of time you might even want to invest in targets or pads to practice.

Kickboxing isnt for everyone, but in my humble opinion, there is no activity more fun than kickboxing in the world. Give it a chance, and you might find a great new hobby. Hope this helps:)

I'm starting kickboxing soon. But I've never done it before. What's it like? Have any tips? Any things I should do to et ready for it? Equipment I should get/ that you recomend? Anything else you should let me know?
