Do I have to give up martial arts?

First off, I am not a doctor and you should always consult your physician before you trust all other sources. And please ignore the rest of these earlier and extremely idiotic responses especially the post from Remase.

You may have a hernia along the cervical or somewhere else along the spine. Typically, radiculopathy (nerve impingement from spinal hernias or other nerve conditions) cause sensations down to the extremities making it difficult to localize the sensations. Cervical radiculopathy usually affects the upper extremities (arms) and lumbar radiculopathy usually affects the lower extremities (legs). If you feel pain/spasm/numbing/tingling sensations when you contort your neck/spine, then it's likely a postural condition that may be treated with postural and physiotherapy adjustments/exercises. You should pay particular attention to your spinal posture for all activities. Certain activities and postural habits are usually the cause and will only get worse in the future if left untreated. You should put your martial arts training on hold until you have a better understanding of your ailment.

If you're really concerned, talk to your doctor about getting an EMG and refer you to a neurologist. They're more specialized in locating and diagnosing these problems.

no don't listen to him if you want to do martial art then do it but if anything goes wrong don't look back and regret it once you make decision it means that you thought it thru well and still go head no matter what the risk. It depends also how far you want to get in martial art if its just for regular fitness then no need to risk your health for that but if you want make a name for your self in martial then put your life on the line and never give up and hold the pain in and push through. i'm sure you will do fine as long as your mental state is higher as a substitute for physical your encountering.

If someone told me to stop all contact activitys forever I'd go get 5 opions. If you don't remember hurting it you had a massive energy rush like from sex or pride mainly. Or you got rocked and that can give you a twitch for up to 3 months and you'd need a focoused MRI and those are dangerous and expensive

I dont know maybe its puss wound what kind of martial arts are you doing.

do wat u want

When I apply intense amounts of pressure to my neck I feel a spasm done my right leg. Its only for an instant and then goes away. This doesn't happen all the time and I don't know the exact area causing this. I went to see the doctor and I got an MRI scan of both my brain and cervical spine. The results came back with nothing too worrying except for the multiple small lymph nodes in my neck. My doctor now recommended I get a chest x-ray and blood test to test for leukaemia as my cousin had it. His the only one in the family it. Still though he hasn't told me why I am getting the spasms but did say that he is certain that I have damaged my cervical spine and should give up martial arts for the rest of my life. I do not remember being struck in the neck or having it strained. There is no pain in the area, the occasional spasm in the leg but that's it. Should I get a second opinion or should I just listen to him?
