Dayton mma academy reviews?

Posted at: 2014-09-13
Let me preface this by saying I have not trained at Dayton MMA. I looked into it a few years ago, but my schedule just didn't work out. That aside, I have been involved in martial arts in the Dayton area for two decades

From what I have heard, Mike Pratt is a very good instructor. Not sure how much he teaches nor have I heard any reviews on any other instructors, but I've heard Mike is every knowledgeable and detailed in his instruction. Probably the only potentially negative thing I have heard is that he switched BJJ affiliations at some point recently; from Jorge Gurgel to Rey Diogo (I think). Why the switch? I don't know but it happens all the time in other martial arts (politics, falling out with the system, etc) so I wouldn't put too much credence in it, but like I said that's the only potentially negative thing I've heard.

Looking at his website, nothing really jumps out at me as "I have a problem with this". There appears to be a kid's class and a "bully program" that takes in kids as young as 4 or 5, which would be a turn off for me. But they appear to be separate classes than the adults, so it really wouldn't hinder my personal decision in the long term as most commercial schools will have a kids class of some sorts.

Long and short of it, as I stated, I haven't had any direct experience with Dayton MMA so I can't comment on how the classes, the facilities, or business is actually ran, but I personally haven't heard anything bad about the place.

Not sure how much of a help that would be, but thought I'd throw out what I do know. Also, if you haven't done so already, I'd recommend stopping by and checking the place out in person.

Its a mcgym, and a complete rip off.

I was wondering if i could get any tesimonials from anyone whos attened mike patts mma academy in beavercreek or if they havent attended check out the site and give me their opinion on it.
