Dan Inosanto never competed against the Machados. He trained in Machado Jiu-Jitsu until he got his black belt and he still works out with them on occassion. Dan Inosanto has had a life-long interest in the martial arts. He has trained and received ranking and certification in more styles than most martial artists ever will. Clearly, Inosanto saw the value of learning what the Machados had to teach so he trained under them for a long time.

There's no "vs". Dan Inosanto trains BJJ under the Machado brothers. If you want to learn BJJ, train with the Machados. If you want to learn JKD, Silat, or Filipino martial arts, train under Inosanto.
